Does the City need School Trustees?
A local woman has started an online petition asking that Langley School Board be reduced to five seats, and that both the Township and the City vote on the same candidates.
Now you know me... I'm a firm believer in Township-City reunification, so I would have no issue with deleting the provision for City seats. Both are held by Township residents anyway.
The petition's author Susan Semonick is (note this edit!) a former District PAC President and former chair of its governance committee, so she knows the system.
But will it gain any traction? Probably very little in the City, but there's no reason why Township residents shouldn't at least consider signing.
