Tourism Langley Officially Launched

There was a big wing-ding at the Canadian Museum of Flight this week to officially launch Tourism Langley and its new logo. More than a hundred people were there.

Both the Advance and the Times have stories.

From the Advance:
To augment the logo, the organization also selected a simple but catch phrase "Endless Choices," which City Mayor Peter Fassbender and Township acting mayor Jordan Bateman described as appropriate and fitting for this community.

Bateman listed off just a few of the existing (Aldor Acres and MAP) as well as proposed tourism entities (Langley Events Centre) that draw people to Langley, and said, the tourism "choices really are endless here."

He added: "Tourism is about economic development too, but it's about sharing what we have in Langley with the world."

And from the Times:
Acting Township mayor Councillor Jordan Bateman told the crowd that last year, more than $100 million was spent in Langley by people staying overnight. People here for the Langley Labour Day Michael J. Smith Memorial soccer tournament spent more than $1 million locally in three days.
