Golden Ears Bridge - Last Chance to Ride For Free
Today is July 15th and is the last day that you can travel across the Golden Ears Bridge (or as a friend of mine calls it, The Maple Bridge to Maple Ridge) for free, gratis, nada. Starting tomorrow, the tolls will be in effect.
So, a quick recap on the tolls:
Transponder -- $2.75 per trip (plus $1/month rental fee for the transponder and a one-time charge of $10 security deposit)
No Transponder, but registered -- $3.30 per trip if you register your license plate with www.quickpasstolling.ca
Unregistered -- $3.90 per trip
Here's an interesting piece of info that I didn't know until I read the The Province story: out-of-province vehicles will not be charged the toll.
On a related side-note, July 31st is the last day for the Albion Ferry. So if you were planning on taking a trip for posterity, you only have a couple of weeks left to do so.
